Phytolith assemblages of Shorea robusta Gaertn. (Dipterocarpaceae), an important constituent tropical deciduous/semi-evergreen forests were studied from six different districts West Bengal, the western margin Bengal Basin. Since S. grows in mixed dry to wet deciduous and semi-evergreen can tolerate a wide variability temperature precipitation regimes, we aim understand if these climatic parameters drive any changes phytolith production pattern plant. Eleven morphotypes retrieved 13 plant specimens collected along gradients show considerable variations among specimens. thus have been subjected detrended correspondence analysis (DCA), which has helped indirectly influence parameter(s) on robusta, any.
