Phytoremediation of Boron using Lemna minor from Synthetic Aqueous Solutions and Real Geothermal Water

چکیده

In this study, phytoremediation performance of Lemna minor L. on boron removal from synthetic solution and real geothermal water was evaluated. Effects initial concentration, pH, height in cell, humic acid concentration were investigated. The maximum efficiency achieved as 96.7 % with the experimental run 5 mg L-1 pH 8, 1.5 cm depth. Increasing to 30 resulted a drastic decrease 36.6 %, due toxic effect high content, which clearly observed deterioration plant’s color structure. SEM, FTIR, mass balance analyses revealed that mechanism mainly biosorption. Geothermal experiments indicated minor’s applicability 59.5% efficiency, proving potential being used for post-treatment waters content.

Phytoremediation of Tetracycline and Degradation Products from Aqueous Solutions

The present study aims at phytoremediation of Lemna gibba L. in aqueous solutions with different concentrations of TC and Degradation Products (DPs). It also tries to determine whether there are differences in TC, ETC, EATC, and ATC levels, accumulated by Lemna gibba L. Exposure concentrations of 50, 100, and 300 ppb have been selected for TC and DPs, showing that the highest TC50, TC100, and T...

Phytoremediation of Cu, Cr and Pb mixtures by Lemna minor.

The present study reports the capacity of the aquatic macrophyte Lemna minor to remediate combinations of Cu(II), Pb(II) and Cr(III) from a simulated natural environment. The effect of these metal mixtures on the growth of L. minor was also investigated using growth rate and biomass inhibition calculations. L. minor was successful in removing Cr and Pb from the water, and it remained an effecti...
