Planning an ESP Course Design in SMK Context Teachers’ Roles and Problems

ESP or English for Specific Purposes is distinctive in that it considers students' learning needs because equips students with the necessary skills to compete workplace. In other words, based on student's major, teacher must tailor instruction be fit employment. How teachers preparing lessons vocational have not been fully disclosed prior study, despite some of issues confront when teaching at schools. Therefore, purpose this study analyze teachers’ roles and also problems planning instructions their students. answering released research questions, qualitative using interview method an open-ended questionnaire were conducted 3 from different SMKs majors. These three a combined experience almost exactly ten years. Online interviews questionnaires questions about preparation Dudley-Evans hypothesis completed via phone email. The results surveys then examined by classifying data according theory. study's findings reveal these encounter similar challenges putting together course plans are appropriate majors, selecting subject matter relevant line work, resources will enable them help meet set objectives.
