Plant Functional Types Differ in Their Long-term Nutrient Response to eCO2 in an Extensive Grassland

چکیده
Abstract Increasing atmospheric CO 2 enhances plant biomass production and may thereby change nutrient concentrations in tissues. The objective of this study was to identify the effect elevated on grassland that have been grown for 16 years (1998–2013). at extensively managed Giessen FACE experiment, fumigated with ambient (aCO ; eCO +20%) harvested twice annually. Concentrations C, N, P, K, Ca, Mg, Mn, Fe, Cu Zn were determined separately grasses, forbs legumes. Under , concentration N reduced Ca grasses forbs, P but increased legumes, Mg legumes K forbs. yield (in g an element per m ?2 ) most elements indicated negative responses a zero response grasses. yields responded positively Mn Fe results suggest under not diluted by fertilization effect. Rather, altered acquisitions via changed physiological mechanisms prevail C assimilation . Furthermore, other factors such as water or availability affected

: examining l2 teachers’ corrective feedback types in relation to learners’ uptake, proficiency levels, and context types
abstract this study investigates the teachers’ correction of students’ spoken errors of linguistic forms in efl classes, aiming at (a) examining the relationship between the learners’ proficiency level and the provision of corrective feedback types, (b) exploring the extent to which teachers’ use of different corrective feedback types is related to the immediate types of context in which err...
an investigation into elt teachers’ sense of self-efficacy in teaching reading comprehension and their personality types
as far as bandura’s (1977) conceptualization of the sense of self-efficacy is concerned, it is argued to be context- and even task-specific, compared to other concepts like self-esteem (brown, 2000); therefore, upon the previous research studies, related theories and definitions, and the ideas and views obtained from the interviews conducted with the scholars, the current research study aimed a...
Long-term functional plasticity in plant hydraulic architecture in response to supplemental moisture.
BACKGROUND AND AIMS Plasticity in structural and functional traits related to water balance may determine plant performance and survival in ecosystems characterized by water limitation or high levels of rainfall variability, particularly in perennial herbaceous species with long generation cycles. This paper addresses whether and the extent to which several such seasonal to long-term traits res...
متن کاملContrasting response of stream detritivores to long-term nutrient enrichment
We examined growth and production responses of two dominant stream detritivores (chironomids and Tallaperla spp. stoneflies) at opposite ends of the ‘‘slow-fast’’ life-history continuum and with distinct feeding characteristics (i.e., consumption of fine particulate organic matter vs. leaf litter) to a 2-yr experimental nutrient enrichment of a headwater stream. Enrichment had large positive ef...
