چکیده
The modification of gum Arabic with ferulic acid oxidation products was performed in aqueous medium, at 30 °C and pH 7.5, the presence Myceliophthora thermophila laccase as biocatalyst. First, this study aimed to investigate structures that could possibly be covalently grafted onto Arabic. HPLC analyses revealed reaction produced several products, whose were investigated using LC-MS/MS (liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry mass fragmentation analyses) NMR experiments. chemical structure one intermediate product fully elucidated 2-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)-4-[(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl) methylidene] cyclobutane-1, 3-dione, called by authors cyclobutadiferulone. Secondly, locate grafting performing This did not determine how much specifically which but some them undeniably present modified Arabic, close glucuronic C5 carbon or galactose C6 carbon.

Gum Arabic: More Than an Edible Emulsifier
Gum Arabic (GA) or Acacia gum is an edible biopolymer obtained as exudates of mature trees of Acacia senegal and Acacia seyal which grow principally in the African region of Sahe in Sudan. The exudate is a non-viscous liquid, rich in soluble fibers, and its emanation from the stems and branches usually occurs under stress conditions such as drought, poor soil fertility, and injury (Williams & P...
متن کاملA versatile and highly efficient post-functionalization method for grafting organic molecules onto Anderson-type polyoxometalates.
A new azide functionalized Anderson polyoxometalate was synthesized, fully characterized and subsequently used as a building block for further POM post-functionalization with organic compounds through a copper catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC) reaction. Optimization of the reaction conditions led to an efficient, fast, convenient and versatile POM coupling method.
متن کاملHydrophobic surface functionalization of lignocellulosic jute fabrics by enzymatic grafting of octadecylamine.
Enzymatic grafting of synthetic molecules onto lignins provides a mild and eco-friendly alternative for the functionalization of lignocellulosic materials. In this study, laccase-mediated grafting of octadecylamine (OA) onto lignin-rich jute fabrics was investigated for enhancing the surface hydrophobicity. First, the lignins in jute fabrics were isolated and analyzed in the macromolecular leve...
متن کاملHydrodynamic Properties of Whole Arabic Gum
The most economically important of the hydrodynamic properties of a material are viscosity and density, which allow determining the intrinsic viscosity of raw materials used in the food industry. They serve as an indirect measure of molecular weight (M), hydrodynamic radius (RH), number of Simha, (ν(P)), Perrin parameter (P); hydration value (δ), Scheraga-Mandelkern parameter (β), and Flory par...
متن کاملDecolourization of Gum Arabic using Activated Charcoal
This research work is aimed at decolourizing gum Arabic using activated charcoal so as to improve the quality of gum Arabic before the use of additives on the gum Arabic. The experiment was conducted on laboratory scale, the filter fixed bed method was used and the adsorbent (activated charcoal) is a granular of 500μm mesh size. The pH, viscosity and transmittance of each solution were measured...
