Population Balance Application in TiO2 Particle Deagglomeration Process Modeling

The deagglomeration of titanium-dioxide powder in water suspension performed a stirring tank was investigated. Owing to the widespread applications process and titanium dioxide powder, new, more efficient devices methods predicting result are highly needed. A brief literature review application process, device used, mechanism is presented herein. In experiments, performed. change particle size distribution time investigated for different impeller geometries rotational speeds. modification geometry allowed improvement solid breakage. modelling part, numerical simulations chosen were using computational-fluid-dynamics (CFD) whereby flow field, hydrodynamic stresses, other useful parameters calculated. Finally, based on simulation results, population-balance with mechanistic model developed. Model predictions showed good agreement experimental data. Using method design prediction product comparison efficiency geometries.
