چکیده
This study presented a pore-scale investigation on the dynamic displacement of oil subjected to ex-situ and in-situ surfactant flooding using X-ray microtomography. The solution was pre-prepared, whereas generated directly with chemical reaction inside porous media. results showed that removal from pore spaces relied combination piston-like, pore-body filling weak emulsification mechanism in system, system dominated by strong process. threshold capillary pressure decreased significantly owing interfacial tension reduction wettability alteration, which enhanced cluster mobilization. Therefore, produced highest recovery efficiency 86.9% compared water flooding. emulsifying ability evaluated through size distributions their evolution. networks or branches disappeared emulsified into small ganglia singlets, thereby leading significant decrease average equivalent diameter. Finally, attributed quick precise aggregation at oil–water interface induced blebbing, case slow transport relying advection diffusion flow mainstream.

X-ray microtomography application in pore space reservoir rock.
Characterization of porosity in carbonate rocks is important in the oil and gas industry since a major hydrocarbons field is formed by this lithology and they have a complex media porous. In this context, this research presents a study of the pore space in limestones rocks by x-ray microtomography. Total porosity, type of porosity and pore size distribution were evaluated from 3D high resolutio...

15 صفحه اولReservoir Condition Pore-scale Imaging of Multiple Fluid Phases Using X-ray Microtomography
X-ray microtomography was used to image, at a resolution of 6.6 µm, the pore-scale arrangement of residual carbon dioxide ganglia in the pore-space of a carbonate rock at pressures and temperatures representative of typical formations used for CO2 storage. Chemical equilibrium between the CO2, brine and rock phases was maintained using a high pressure high temperature reactor, replicating condi...
متن کاملA new investigation on modeling of permeability reduction during CO2 flooding processes in sandstone oil reservoirs
Permeability reduction in oil reservoirs during primary oil recovery and using the enhanced oil recovery methods are complicated problem which most of the oil field in worlds has encountered. In this work, a modified model based on four phase black oil model (oil, water, gas, and asphaltene) was developed to account permeability reduction during CO2 flooding in cylindrical coordinates around a ...
متن کاملPore-scale contact angle measurements at reservoir conditions using X-ray microtomography
Contact angle is a principal control of the flow of multiple fluid phases through porous media; however its measurement on other than flat surfaces remains a challenge. A new method is presented for the measurement of the contact angle between immiscible fluids at the pore scale at reservoir conditions (10 MPa and 50 C) inside a quarry limestone through the use of X-ray microtomography. It is a...
