Acute pyelonephritis (APN), although a common clinical entity, still not much is known about the profile in Indian scenario. Pyelonephritis occurs as complication of an ascending urinary tract infection (UTI). Symptoms usually include fever, flank pain, nausea, vomiting, burning on urination, increased frequency, and urgency.Acute can be divided into uncomplicated complicated. Complicated includes pregnant patients, patients with uncontrolled diabetes, kidney transplants, anatomical abnormalities, acute or chronic failure, well immunocompromised those hospital-acquired bacterial infections.
