Positronium density measurements using polaritonic effects

چکیده
Recent experimental advances in Positronium (Ps) physics have made it possible to produce dense Ps ensembles which Ps-Ps interactions may occur, leading the production of Ps$_2$ molecules and paving way realization a Bose-Einstein Condensate (BEC). In order achieve this latter goal would be advantageous develop new methods measure densities real-time. Here we describe approach do using polaritonic methods: realistic parameters demonstrate that gas can strongly coupled photonic field distributed Bragg reflector microcavity. regime, optical spectrum system is composed two hybrid positronium-polariton resonances separated by vacuum Rabi splitting, proportional square root density. Given polaritons created on sub-cycle timescale, spectroscopic measurement splitting could used as an ultra-fast density regimes relevant BEC formation. Moreover, show how positronium-polaritons potentially enter ultrastrong light-matter coupling introducing radically novel platform explore its non-perturbative phenomenology.

Space Positronium Detection by Radio Measurements
The possibility of positronium detection at radio wavelengths is investigated in detail. For orthopositronium, the fine structure lines of the n = 2 level (1.62 cm, 2.30 cm and 3.48 cm) may be probably detected by radiotelescopes of next generations with the sensitivity around 1µJy. The spin-flip line of the ground state (0.147 cm) may be observed from sources with a narrow annihilation line by...
متن کاملExperiments with a high-density positronium gas.
We have created a high-density gas of interacting positronium (Ps) atoms by irradiating a thin film of nanoporous silica with intense positron bursts and measured the Ps lifetime using a new single-shot technique. When the positrons were compressed to 3.3 x 10(10) cm-2, the apparent intensity of the orthopositronium lifetime component was found to decrease by 33%. We believe this is due to a co...
متن کاملLaser plasma density measurements using interferometry
Fabrication of an interferometer is planned at the UCSD Laser Plasma and Laser-Matter Interactions Laboratory. The primary goal of this project is to measure the density at early times in the evolution of highly transient laser created plasmas. We describe the design concepts and details of different kinds of interferometer for measuring density evolution, especially during early time of plasma...
متن کاملPressure Effects in ortho-Positronium Annihilation
In the literature on positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy (PALS) numerous papers are devoted to the temperature dependence of annihilation parameters: lifetime and relative intensity of various modes of decay. The number of studies on pressure dependence of the same parameters is in great contrast to the previously mentioned: the number is very low. The pressure studies certainly deserve...
متن کاملNonlinear properties and stabilities of polaritonic crystals beyond the low-excitation-density limit
Coherent properties of a two-dimensional spatially periodic structure, polaritonic crystal (PolC) formed by trapped two-level atoms in an optical cavity array interacting with a light field, are analyzed. By considering the wave function overlapping for both photonic and atomic states, a cubic-quintic complex nonlinear Schrödinger equation is derived for the dynamics of coupled atom-light state...
