چکیده
The majority of cases liver cancer are discovered late in the disease’s progression, making it third leading cause death globally. Chemotherapy is major treatment choice for advanced stages hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC); however, drug resistance, adverse effects, and high cost problems effective treatment. Isoquercetin (IQ) a dietary flavonoid, which has an anti-proliferative effect against several cell lines. It also prophylactic early some models including HCC. purpose this study was to assess therapeutic anticarcinogenic IQ murine A single intraperitoneal (ip) dose 100 mg/kg diethylnitrosamine (DEN), followed by 18 weekly ip doses 0.5 carbon-tetrachloride (CCl4) used induce After induction HCC, (10 20 bw) given orally from week 21 24. most likely ameliorated structure function livers with experimentally induced HCC improving survival rate, significantly reducing tumor marker alpha-fetoprotein (AFP), number hepatic nodules downstaging This accompanied increase endogenous antioxidant capacity suppressor protein ‘p53’, as well lower levels lipid peroxidation malondialdehyde (MDA), proliferation proliferating nuclear antigen (PCNA) angiogenesis vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) tissues. suppresses proliferation, oxidative stress, activating p53 inhibiting angiogenesis.

Background: Lutein, a carotenoid compound, has previously been studied for its antioxidant and medicinal properties as well as the moderate protection it confers against gamma radiation. This study aimed at evaluating the effects of lutein against radiation-induced hematological and biochemical changes in mice. Methods: The optimized dose of the compound was orally administered for 15 days, and ...
متن کاملPossible protective effects of resveratrol in hepatocellular carcinoma
Objective(s): Resveratrol (RSV) is a naturally occurring plant polyphenol with cardioprotective, neuroprotective, immunoregulatory, and anticancer properties and is biologically effective against various diseases. This study aimed to investigate the chemopreventive effect of different doses of RSV against hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) induced by diethylnitrosamine (D...
متن کاملMaotai Ameliorates Diethylnitrosamine-Initiated Hepatocellular Carcinoma Formation in Mice
Consumption of alcohol is closely related to liver disease, such as hepatic fibrosis or even hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). However, epidemiological and experimental studies indicated that consumption of Maotai, one of the famous liquors in China, exhibits no significant correlation with hepatic fibrosis or cirrhosis as other beverage sources do. This study detected the relationship of Maotai ...
متن کاملLiver transplantation for diethylnitrosamine-induced hepatocellular carcinoma in rats.
H UMAN hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a highly malignant tumor with a natural history of a few months from the time of diagnosis. Curative resection offers the best chance of survival. l However, surgical resectability rates rarely exceed 30% to 40% because of extensiveness of the tumors or because coexisting liver disease precludes attempted partial hepatectomy.2 Consequently, total liver r...
