Post-fire behaviour of continuous reinforced concrete slabs under different fire conditions

چکیده

An experimental investigation of the performance reinforced concrete continuous slabs is presented in this paper, following exposure to different compartment fires. The influence that several factors, including fire scenarios, reinforcement ratio, and bar arrangement, have on deflections, strains, crack patterns, failure modes analysed. Results compared uniform case, localized or extended punching shear are more likely occur fire-damaged subjected traveling due cracks. residual structural stiffness ultimate loads enhanced with increasing reinforcing but brittle readily appeared. Finally, deflection criterion (l/50) ACI 318-08 theory helpful predicting any scenario.

Behaviour of fibre reinforced concrete slabs

This paper presents a comparison of the properties of concrete slabs when two types of fibres are added. One specimen had no fibres and acted as a control specimen. The remaining four specimens had steel and polypropylene fibres added in the volumetric ratio of 0.5% and 1.0%. The dimensions of the slab specimens were 820×820×80 mm and were supported by four rollers at their edges. A displacemen...

Fire Damage Assessment of Reinforced Concrete Structures Using Fuzzy Theory

Once a reinforced concrete (RC) structure is damaged by fire, the fire damage assessment should proceed to take appropriate post-fire actions, including the decision-making of whether it can be repaired for reuse or not. Since the assessment results of current fire damage diagnosis methods, however, highly depend on the subjective judgment of inspectors, it is hard to ensure their objectiveness...

Finite Element Modeling of Reinforced Concrete Beams Exposed to Fire

Abstract: The practical implementation of performance-based fire safety design of reinforced concrete (RC) structures hinges on the availability of accurate numerical simulation tools for the behavior of RC members exposed to fire. This paper presents a three-dimensional (3D) finite element (FE) model for the accurate prediction of both the thermal and the mechanical behavior of RC beams expose...

Structural analysis of reinforced concrete chimneys subjected to uncontrolled fire

We studied the behavior and residual structural capacity of reinforced concrete chimneys subjected to an uncontrolled fire. We used a combination of a heat transfer finite element model – to obtain the temporal distributions of temperature during the fire event – and the structural model of concrete chimney design provided by the American Concrete Institute (ACI 307–08). This approach allows es...

Unbonded Post Tensioned Concrete Slabs in Fire – Part II – Modelling Tendon Response and the Consequences of Localized Heating

This is Part II of a two part paper dealing with the current state of knowledge of the fire-safe structural design and construction of unbonded post-tensioned (UPT) flat plate concrete structures. Part I provided detailed results of nineteen transient high temperature stress relaxation tests on restrained UPT tendons of realistic length and parabolic longitudinal profiles. Experimentation ident...
