چکیده

Objectives: The relationship between psychological and physical readiness for return to sport after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR) is not well understood. Psychological stress were therefore evaluated at six months following primary ACLR along with standard functional patient reported outcome (PRO) instruments performance tests understand the in young athletes. Methods: Participants Hospital Special Surgery Pediatric Functional Activity Brief Scale (HSS Pedi-FABS), International Knee Documentation Committee Questionnaire (IKDC), PROMIS Stress Experience (PSE) ACL Return Sport After Injury (ACL-RSI). testing included gluteal, hamstring, quadriceps strength testing, single leg hop (SLH), crossover hop, triple timed 6-meter SLH. Patient characteristics continuous categorical variables summarized. Pearson’s correlation coefficient multivariable regression used determine associations limb symmetry index (LSI) on PROs. Those LSI deficits of less than 20% (better performance) then compared those greater (worse performance). Results: 229 participants (89 male, 140 female) median age 17 years (range 10.3 30.6 years) enrolled. IKDC had a moderate negative PSE (r=0.39 ; 95% CI=-0.49, -0.27; p<0.001) positive ACL-RSI (r=0.55; CI=0.46, 0.64; (Figure 1). 151 patients completed testing. demonstrated SLH (r=0.21;95% CI=0.05, 0.35; p=0.01) (r=0.28; CI, 0.42; p=0.001) 2). When controlling sex, age, graft type, who deficit scored 17.9 points higher (p<0.001), average 13.9 (p=0.04). Conclusions: At 6 ACLR, highe r associated better suggesting potential link recovery.

Return to sport after ACL reconstruction.

Objective guidelines permitting safe return to sport following anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction are infrequently used. The purpose of this study was to determine the published return to sport guidelines following ACL reconstruction in Level I randomized controlled trials. A systematic review was performed using Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses (P...

Performance and return-to-sport after ACL reconstruction in NFL quarterbacks.

Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) rupture is a significant injury in National Football League (NFL) quarterbacks. The purpose of this study was to determine (1) return-to-sport (RTS) rate in NFL quarterbacks following ACL reconstruction, (2) performance upon RTS, and (3) the difference in RTS and performance between players who underwent ACL reconstruction and controls. Thirteen quarterbacks (14...

The impact of psychological readiness to return to sport and recreational activities after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction.

BACKGROUND This cross-sectional study aimed to examine whether appraisal of knee function, psychological and demographic factors were related to returning to the preinjury sport and recreational activity following anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction. METHOD 164 participants completed a questionnaire battery at 1-7 years after primary ACL reconstruction. The battery included questi...

Return to sport: when should an athlete return to sport after an ACL surgery?

A torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), followed by reconstruction surgery, can be devastating for an athlete. Advances in physical therapy now help athletes improve rapidly during the early period after surgery. However, guidelines on how to determine if it is safe to return to sport are more general and vary widely. Athletes and the people who care about and for them need reliable and valid ...
