چکیده

Posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES) is a clinical and radiological condition that involves the acute onset of headache, confusion, optical impairments, seizures with accompanying vasogenic edema on brain imaging. Here 12 years old male patient presented complaints swelling in face legs, headache vomitings. He had history fever, sore throat tonsillitis days back. On physical examination weight height was between 25-50th percentile, BP 142/92 mmHg (>99th centile), he pretibial +2 periorbitol edema. At presentation urine analysis showed haematuria, proteinuria at nephritic level, elevated urea creatinine, increased ASO titre, low C3 C4 levels. After admission, an episode convulsion when 162/98 mm hg. Magnetic resonance imaging bilateral occipital, parietal, frontal cortex subcortical white matter T2/Fluid-attenuated inversion recovery (FLAIR) hyperintensitie, suggestive PRES. EEG found to be normal. MRI normal first month after starting antihypertensive anticonvulsive treatment. In year follow-up, blood pressure, neurological urinalysis findings were Thus, it suggested early diagnosis PRES patients features prompt treatment will prevent permanent neurologic sequale.

A case of posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome.

Posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome is a condition characterised by headache, confusion, seizures and visual disturbances. This can occur in high blood pressure and eclampsia. Magnetic resonance imaging is the gold standard. Usually the symptoms tend to resolve after a period of time. It was fi rst described by Hinchey in 1996. We had a 22-years-old primi that has delivered a caesarean...

Posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome unmasking acute glomerulonephritis.

Posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES) is a recently described condition, wherein there is vasogenic oedema, seen on neuroimaging, predominantly over the parieto occipital regions of the cerebrum. Though, as the name implies, the condition is reversible, there may be fatalities and neurological sequelae. We are reporting a 9-year-old female child in whom the typical clinical and ne...
