Potentiometric determination of mepivacaine hydrochloride local anesthetic drug in pharmaceutical and biological fluids using ion selective electrode

The objective of this work is to determine mepivacaine hydrochloride (MPVHC) as local anesthetic drug. Modified carbon paste ion-selective electrode was used for the determination MPVHC in different dosage forms and biological fluids. study depends on potentiometric titration drug using modified (MCPE) end point indicator electrode. effects composition, conditioning parameters foreign ions performance were investigated response time has been studied. results obtained showed that with sodium tetraphenyl borate-MPV ion pair gives highest potential break at point, Nernstian slope, wide concentration range lower detection limit than reinckate-, phosphotungestic- phosphomolybdic-MPV pairs. fabricated 57.71±0.67 mV decade-1 3.1×10-7 – 1.0×10-1 mol L-1 MCPE found be operating within pH 3.0–8.0 exhibited a fast (about 14 s), low long lifetime (98 days). high selectivity presence organic, inorganic amino acids. successfully applied pharmaceutical preparations fluids (urine plasma) percent recovery standard relative deviation values. applying are comparable British pharmacopeia. method validation optimized can routine analysis
