Predicting the Finite Population Distribution Function under a Multilevel Model

چکیده
Chambers and Dunstan proposed a model-based predictor of the population distribution function that makes use auxiliary information under general sampling design. Subsequently, Rao, Kovar, Mantel design-based ratio difference predictors also this information. Both (CD RKM) assume single level model for target population. In article we develop finite follows multilevel model. These new same smearing approach underpinning CD predictor. We compare our with RKM via simulation, show they perform better than these when there is significant intra-cluster correlation. The performances two are examined an empirical study based on data from large-scale UK business survey aimed at estimating hourly pay rates. AMS subject classification: Primary 62G30, Secondary 62G32

Admissibility of Linear Predictors of Finite Population Parameters under Reflected Normal Loss Function
One of the most important prediction problems in finite population is the prediction of a linear function of characteristic values of a finite population. In this paper the admissibility of linear predictors of an arbitrary linear function of characteristic values in a finite population under reflected normal loss function is considered. Under the super-population model, we obtain the condition...
متن کاملPredicting Random Effects with an Expanded Finite Population Mixed Model.
Prediction of random effects is an important problem with expanding applications. In the simplest context, the problem corresponds to prediction of the latent value (the mean) of a realized cluster selected via two-stage sampling. Recently, Stanek and Singer (JASA, 2004) developed best linear unbiased predictors (BLUP) under a finite population mixed model that outperform BLUPs from mixed model...
متن کاملA finite element model for predicting the distribution of drugs delivered intracranially to the brain.
Drug therapy to the central nervous system is complicated by the presence of the blood-brain barrier. The development of new drug delivery techniques to overcome this obstacle will be aided by a clear understanding of the transport processes in the brain. A rigorous theoretical framework of the transport of drugs delivered locally to the parenchyma has been developed using the finite element me...
متن کاملA multi-period distribution network design model under demand uncertainty
Supply chain management is taken into account as an inseparable component in satisfying customers' requirements. This paper deals with the distribution network design (DND) problem which is a critical issue in achieving supply chain accomplishments. A capable DND can guarantee the success of the entire network performance. However, there are many factors that can cause fluctuations in input dat...
متن کاملFinite population estimation under generalized linear model assistance
Finite population estimation is the overall goal of sample surveys. When information regarding auxiliary variables are available, one may take advantage of general regression estimators (GREG) to improve sample estimate precision. GREG estimators may be derived when the relationship between interest and auxiliary variables is represented by a normal linear model. However, in some scenarios, suc...
