Prediction of Loss of Position during Dynamic Positioning Drilling Operations Using Binary Logistic Regression Modeling

The prediction of loss position in the offshore industry would allow optimization dynamic positioning drilling operations, reducing number and severity potential accidents. In this paper, probability an excursion is determined by developing binary logistic regression models based on a database 42 incidents which took place between 2011 2015. For each case, variables describing configuration system, weather conditions, water depth are considered. We demonstrate that significantly more likely to occur when there higher usage generators, takes shallower waters along with adverse conditions; model has very good results applied sample. same method then for obtaining not attributable human error, showing it function percentage generators use, wind force, wave height. Applying these risk management operations may help focus our attention factors most strongly affect position, thereby improving safety during operations.
