Preductal postductal oxygen saturation gradient in preterm infants immediately after birth: Effect of gestational age on achievement of target saturation

چکیده
Background: The delivery room oxygen saturation (SpO2) monitoring in neonates is based on studies term infants. Study of preductal-postductal SpO2 gradient healthy preterms immediately after birth will help follow-up an abnormal gradient, rationalizing therapy, and early identification congenital cyanotic heart disease. Aims Objectives: initially low gradually increases to normal newborns postnatally. Postductal lower than preductal, but their difference decreases Our study aims find out the correlation between gestational age SpO2. In preterms, may persist longer due patent ductus arteriosus higher pulmonary vascular resistance. Materials Methods: This observational cross-sectional has been conducted over 1 year with 80 birth, Institutional Ethics Committee approval parental informed consent. Preductal postductal were recorded by probes right hand left foot respectively for 20 min birth. Data analyzed SPSS software. Results: shows that significant first life there positive preductal at negative time taken achieve 90% Conclusion: concludes persists reach significantly decreasing age.

Oxygen saturation in healthy infants immediately after birth.
OBJECTIVE Because the optimal concentration of oxygen (FiO2) required for stabilization of the newly born infant has not been established, the FiO2 is commonly adjusted according to the infant's oxygen saturation (SpO2). We aimed to determine the range of pre-ductal SpO2 in the first minutes of life in healthy newborn infants. STUDY DESIGN We applied an oximetry sensor to the infant's right p...
متن کاملOxygen saturation trends immediately after birth.
OBJECTIVE To describe the changes in oxygen saturation (SpO2) in healthy infants during the first 10 minutes of life. STUDY DESIGN In this observational study, infants > or = 35 weeks gestation at birth who did not require supplemental oxygen had continuous recordings taken of the preductal SpO2 over the first 10 minutes of life. RESULTS A total of 115 infants were analyzed. On average, inf...

BACKGROUND Previous studies have suggested that the incidence of retinopathy is lower in preterm infants with exposure to reduced levels of oxygenation than in those exposed to higher levels of oxygenation. However, it is unclear what range of oxygen saturation is appropriate to minimize retinopathy without increasing adverse outcomes. METHODS We performed a randomized trial with a 2-by-2 fac...

متن کاملSimultaneous measurement of preductal and postductal oxygen saturation by pulse oximetry in hyaline membrane disease.
Preductal and postductal oxygen saturation were compared in 20 ventilated preterm infants with hyaline membrane disease to establish the frequency of right to left shunting and to assess the accuracy of postductus arteriosus blood gas sampling. One hundred and thirty eight comparisons were made and the frequency of right to left shunting was 17% (95% confidence interval 12 to 25%). Shunting epi...
