Preliminary Study of pH Sensor for Engine Oil Deterioration Detection Using Anodized Ta2O5 Nanotubular

pH sensor is one of the sensing principles that can be employed in detection engine oil deterioration. To avoid unnecessary changing while maintaining quality consumed by car’s engine, deterioration required to continuously monitor condition. In this work, we fabricated layer made up tantalum thin film. Ta2O5nanotubular was constructed as medium interaction measure oil. Anodization synthesis method used fabricate varying anodization time. Two samples anodized at 30 min and 60 were tested buffer solution ranging from 2, 4, 7, 10 12. Further characterization using field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM) conducted investigate surface morphology properties, X-ray diffraction (XRD) obtain crystal properties Ta2O5nanotubular. A homogeneous Ta2O5nanostructures with cubic structure pore diameter between 15 20 nm obtained. sample has better adsorption H+ions linear sensitivity 31.616 mV/pH good stability.
