چکیده
Abstract The construction of highways causes several impacts on the environment, including, suppression vegetation, which can lead to reduced biodiversity. One mitigating measure involves reallocating plant protected areas and orchids might be important for this use. An example could terricolous orchid Sauroglossum nitidum. In an attempt optimize survival S. nitidum following reallocation, aim study was investigate whether fertilization increase orchid. For this, five lots with ten plants per lot were randomly separated, submitted soluble NPK 10-52-10 (1 g.L-1), spraying each 1 mL fertilizer, other sprayed same volume distilled water. This treatment repeated fortnightly two months before reallocation. relocated in September 2015 monitored monthly until November 2016. Overall 92%. Additionally, flowering observed significantly higher fertilized plants. conclusion, reallocation previous is recommended.

Ovum fertilization and embryo survival in ewes treated with estradiol immediately prior to mating.
Eight ewes in each of four groups were injected subcutaneously immediately prior to natural mating with 0, 30, 150, or 750 /ag of estradiol-17/3. The ewes were necropsied 3 days after mating and the ova were examined. None of the three doses of estradiol reduced ovum fertilization significantly, but the 750-/ag dose decreased the number of accessory sperm ceils in the zonae pellucidae. Eight ot...

One of the distinct reproductive programs in orchid species is pollination-triggered ovule development and megasporogenesis. During sexual reproduction, fertilization occurs days to months after pollination. The molecular mechanisms evolved to carry out this strategic reproductive program remain unclear. In the August issue of Plant Physiology 1 , we report comprehensive studies of comparative ...

aperture in the tissues surrounding the meristems. 'This simple experiment revealed that there were four distinct regions of the embryo with different plasmodesmata apertures. The shoot meristem had the highest aperture enabling movement of single-to-triple sized GFP; the hypocotyl (embryonic stem) allowed single, double and some triple-sized GFP movement; the root allowed single and double-siz...
متن کاملRole and regulation of sperm gelsolin prior to fertilization.
To acquire fertilization competence, spermatozoa should undergo several biochemical changes in the female reproductive tract, known as capacitation. The capacitated spermatozoon can interact with the egg zona pellucida resulting in the occurrence of the acrosome reaction, a process that allowed its penetration into the egg and fertilization. Sperm capacitation requires actin polymerization, whe...

ORCHIDS is an intrusion detection tool based on techniques for fast, on-line model-checking. ORCHIDS detects complex, correlated strands of events with very low overhead in practice, although its detection algorithm has worstcase exponential time complexity. The purpose of this paper is twofold. First, we explain the salient features of the basic model-checking algorithm in an intuitive way, as...
