Probabilistic friction model for aluminium–steel Asymmetric Friction Connections (AFC)

چکیده

Multiple physical variables potentially affect the friction coefficient of Asymmetric Friction Connections (AFC). This paper discusses cyclic response a class AFC subjected to repeated load protocols. Two phenomena are observed. First, coefficient, initially higher due wear and moment-axial force-shear force interaction, stabilizes after multiple cycles. Second, test repetitions on same specimen show that at beginning loading protocol is than observed end antecedent protocol. The experimental data prove dissipated energy during current test, temperature, specimen’s history coefficient. presents two probabilistic models calibrated using Bayesian approach. first engineering-oriented model dependent hysteretic energy. second includes measured temperature as regressor estimate its possible role in response. proposed can be used predict with satisfactory accuracy Coulomb-like hysteresis AFCs. • Repeated tests Temperature effects for AFC. Description evolution e-CLT technology. Pros Cons devices.

On Friction Compensation without Friction Model

This paper presents a new methodology for friction compensation that is not based on any friction model. This is done by using finite-terms Fourier series to approximate the friction term. Updating laws for the coefficients of the series are easily derived from a Lyapunov approach to guarantee asymptotic convergence of the tracking error. Computer simulations are then proposed in which friction...

Internally architectured materials with directionally asymmetric friction

Internally Architectured Materials (IAMs) that exhibit different friction forces for sliding in the opposite directions are proposed. This is achieved by translating deformation normal to the sliding plane into a tangential force in a manner that is akin to a toothbrush with inclined bristles. Friction asymmetry is attained by employing a layered material or a structure with parallel 'ribs' inc...

Friction Models and Friction Compensation

Friction occurs in all mechanical systems,e.g. bearings, transmissions, hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders, valves, brakes and wheels. Friction appears at the physical interface between two surfaces in contact. Lubricants such as grease or oil are often used but the there may also be a dry contact between the surfaces. Friction is strongly influenced by contaminations. There is a wide range of p...

A Simple Geometrical Model for Solid Friction

We present a simple model for the friction of two solid bodies moving against each other. In a self consistent way we can obtain the dependence of the macroscopic friction force as a function of the driving velocity, the normal force and the ruggedness of the surfaces in contact. Our results are discussed in the context of friction laws used in earthquake models. PACS numbers: 46.30.Pa 81.40.Pa...

Degradation Prediction Model for Friction in Highways

The purpose of this paper is to develop a multiple linear regression model that describes the pavement’s friction behaviour using a degradation evolution law that also considers the effects of weather, vertical alignment and traffic factors. This study is based on real data obtained from two different highways with an approximate total length of 43 km. These sections present different alignment...
