Probing Many-Body Quantum Chaos with Quantum Simulators

چکیده
The spectral form factor (SFF), characterizing statistics of energy eigenvalues, is a key diagnostic many-body quantum chaos. In addition, partial factors (PSFFs) can be defined which refer to subsystems the system. They provide unique insights into eigenstate systems, as we show in an analysis on basis random matrix theory and thermalization hypothesis. We propose protocol that allows measurement SFF PSFFs spin models, within framework randomized measurements. Aimed probe dynamical properties our scheme employs statistical correlations local operations are applied at different times single experiment. Probing quantum many–body dynamics with heavy–ion collisions
The quantum many-body problem is common to all fields aiming at describing complex quantum systems of interacting particles. Examples range from quarks and gluons in a nucleon to macromolecules such as fullerenes. Nuclear systems are another example where up to about 500 nucleons (in the case of actinide collisions) may interact. What make nuclear systems special to test quantum many-body theor...
متن کاملProbing quantum many-body dynamics in nuclear systems
Quantum many-body nuclear dynamics is treated at the mean-field level with the time-dependent Hartree-Fock (TDHF) theory. Low-lying and high-lying nuclear vibrations are studied using the linear response theory. The fusion mechanism is also described for light and heavy systems. The latter exhibit fusion hindrance due to quasi-fission. Typical characteristics of quasi-fission, such as contact t...
متن کاملQuantum simulators.
Quantum simulators are controllable quantum systems that can be used to simulate other quantum systems. Being able to tackle problems that are intractable on classical computers, quantum simulators would provide a means of exploring new physical phenomena. We present an overview of how quantum simulators may become a reality in the near future as the required technologies are now within reach. ...
متن کاملScrambling of Quantum Information in Quantum Many-Body Systems
We systematically investigate scrambling (or delocalizing) processes of quantum information encoded in quantum many-body systems by using numerical exact diagonalization. As a measure of scrambling, we adopt the tripartite mutual information (TMI) that becomes negative when quantum information is delocalized. We clarify that scrambling is an independent property of integrability of Hamiltonians...
متن کاملExploiting quantum parallelism to simulate quantum random many-body systems.
We present an algorithm that exploits quantum parallelism to simulate randomness in a quantum system. In our scheme, all possible realizations of the random parameters are encoded quantum mechanically in a superposition state of an auxiliary system. We show how our algorithm allows for the efficient simulation of dynamics of quantum random spin chains with known numerical methods. We propose an...
