چکیده
Pigments of natural origin have become a research trend, and fungi provide readily available alternative source. Moreover, developing novel processes that increase yields, reduce process time simplify downstream processing is increased interest. In this sense, work proposes an for Talaromyces atroroseus GH2 biomass re-utilization to produce pigments through consecutive batches using immobilized mycelium. Different support materials were evaluated pigment production immobilization capacity. Then, Taguchi’s method was applied determine the effect four factors related fungal (inoculum concentration, density, working volume volume). Afterward, kinetics cells T. in evaluated. All significant affected microorganism growth differently. At improved conditions, capacity reached 99.01 ± 0.37% 30% higher than free cells. Process showed could continue three limited by excessive growth. Indeed, more studies are still needed, but represents promising strategy allowing downstream-processing intensification since easily removed from fermentation media, thus paving way further development continuous process.

Production of cordycepin by Cordyceps militaris using submerged liquid culture: Optimization of the culture medium and repeated batch fermentation
Cordycepin (3’-deoxyadenosine) is one of the most versatile metabolites of Cordyceps militaris due to its broad spectrum of biological activity. In this study, response surface methodology (RSM) was applied to optimize the medium components for the cordycepin production by submerged liquid culture. The optimal parameters for cordycepin production within the experimental range of the variables r...
متن کاملProduction of hyaluronic acid by repeated batch fermentation
The production of hyaluronic acid (HA) by Streptococcus zooepidemicus with repeated batch fermentation has been investigated. It was found hat, with conventional operation, both maximal specific growth rate (μm) and specific HA productivity (YP/X) decreased with increasing seed olume, suggesting that there exist some inhibitors in the broth. The removal of liquid in the seed was first attempted...
متن کاملTalaromyces atroroseus, a New Species Efficiently Producing Industrially Relevant Red Pigments
Some species of Talaromyces secrete large amounts of red pigments. Literature has linked this character to species such as Talaromyces purpurogenus, T. albobiverticillius, T. marneffei, and T. minioluteus often under earlier Penicillium names. Isolates identified as T. purpurogenus have been reported to be interesting industrially and they can produce extracellular enzymes and red pigments, but...
متن کاملPerstraction of Intracellular Pigments through Submerged Fermentation of Talaromyces spp. in a Surfactant Rich Media: A Novel Approach for Enhanced Pigment Recovery
A high percentage of the pigments produced by Talaromyces spp. remains inside the cell, which could lead to a high product concentration inhibition. To overcome this issue an extractive fermentation process, perstraction, was suggested, which involves the extraction of the intracellular products out of the cell by using a two-phase system during the fermentation. The present work studied the ef...

Batch ethanol fermentations from sweet sorghum juice by Saccharomyces cerevisiae NP 01 were carried out in a 500 ml air-locked Erlenmeyer flask under very high gravity (VHG) and static conditions. The maximum ethanol production efficiency was obtained when 9 g l of yeast extract was supplemented to the juice. The ethanol concentration (P), productivity (Qp) and yield (Yp/s) were 120.24 ± 1.35 g...
