چکیده
Abstract Stellar winds blown out from massive stars (≳10 M ⊙ ) contain precious information on the progenitor itself, and in this context most important elements are carbon (C), nitrogen (N), oxygen (O), which produced by CNO cycle H-burning layer. Although their X-ray fluorescence lines expected to be detected swept-up shock-heated circumstellar materials supernova remnants, those of C N have been particularly difficult detect so far. Here, we present high-resolution spectroscopy young magnetar-hosting remnant RCW 103 with Reflection Grating Spectrometer board XMM-Newton report detection vii Ly α (0.50 keV) line for first time. By comparing obtained abundance ratio O (N/O = 3.8 ± 0.1) various stellar evolution models, show that is likely a low mass (10–12 medium rotation velocity (≲100 km s −1 ). Pulsar Near the Supernova Remnant RCW 103
Received ; accepted – 2 – ABSTRACT We report the detection of the radio pulsar counterpart to the 69 ms X-ray pulsar discovered near the supernova remnant RCW 103 (G332.4−0.4). Our detection confirms that the pulsations arise from a rotation-powered neutron star, which we name PSR J1617−5055. The observed barycentric period derivative confirms that the pulsar has a characteristic age of only 8 ...
متن کاملInfluence of an Internal Magnetar on Supernova Remnant Expansion
Most of the proposed associations between magnetars and supernova remnant suffer from age problems. Usually, supernova remnants ages are determined from an approximation of the Sedov-Taylor phase relation between radius and age, for a fixed energy of the explosion ∼ 10 erg. Those ages do not generally agree with the characteristic ages of the (proposed) associated magnetars. We show quantitativ...
متن کاملUnifying Type II Supernova Light Curves with Dense Circumstellar Material
A longstanding problem in the study of supernovae (SNe) has been the relationship between the Type IIP and Type IIL subclasses. Whether they come from distinct progenitors or they are from similar stars with some property that smoothly transitions from one class to another has been the subject of much debate. Here we show using one-dimensional radiation-hydrodynamic SN models that the multi-ban...
متن کاملAn unresolved X - ray source inside the supernova remnant RCW 86
We report on the discovery of an unresolved X-ray source inside the supernova remnant G315.4-2.3 (RCW 86). The source is located 7 to the Southwest of the geometrical centre and may be close to the actual explosion centre of the supernova, which makes this a candidate for the stellar remnant associated with RCW 86. However, the presence of a possible optical counterpart with V ∼ 14 at 3 from th...
متن کاملEjector and propeller spin - down : How might a superluminous supernova millisecond magnetar become the 6 . 67 hr pulsar in RCW 103
The X-ray source 1E 161348−5055 in the supernova remnant RCW 103 recently exhibited X-ray activity typical of magnetars, i.e. neutron stars with magnetic fields & 1014 − 1015 G. However, 1E 161348−5055 has an observed period of 6.67 hr, in contrast to magnetars which have a spin period of seconds. Here we describe a simple model which can explain the spin evolution of 1E 161348−5055, as well as...
