چکیده
In this study, we aimed to evaluate the prognostic significance of adipose tissue distribution and metabolic activity in PET/CT predict survival patients with metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC). The volume, density (HU), FDG uptake (standardized value (SUV)) visceral (VAT) subcutaneous (SAT) maximum tumor were measured. Subcutaneous volume-to-density ratio (SAT ratio) was calculated. median OS for SAT < −1.1 ≥ 38.5 (95% CI 31.54–45.58) 24.5 14.13–34.93) months, respectively (p = 0.05). During follow-up, 69 experienced disease progression. progression-free (PFS) 11.03 months CI: 9.11–12.95). Median PFS SUV max 11.5 9.2 7.25–11.27) 12.6 10.02–15.27) 0.14). Forty-eight received bevacizumab therapy. VAT mean (HR: 0.09; 95% 0.01–0.52, p 0.008) significantly associated receiving bevacizumab. significant parameter 0.58; 0.33–1.01, 0.05) 1.99; 1.02–3.91, 0.043). an independent factor mCRC. Higher volume is correlated longer mCRC patients.

PURPOSE Leptin is encoded by the ob gene and is involved in the control of food intake and energy expenditure. Recent studies have implicated leptin expression to be an indicator of tumor features and prognosis. The purpose of this study was to investigate the association of tissue expression of leptin with the clinicopathological characteristics and clinical outcomes in colorectal cancer patie...

background beta catenin plays a key role in cancer tumorigenesis. however, its prognostic significance in patients with colorectal cancer (crc) remains controversial. it has been demonstrated that 90% of all tumors have a mutation in individual components of multiple oncogenes in wnt/β-catenin pathway. accumulation of nuclear β-catenin in cytoplasm leads to uncontrolled cell proliferation. thus...

Background: Colorectal cancer is one of the most common types of cancer and the cause of death of a large number of patients and requires investigating the causes of the disease and adopting targeted therapies. Considering the diagnostic, therapeutic, and prognostic significance of genetic markers, in the present study BRAF-V600E gene mutation was evaluated in tissue samples of colorectal cance...

The Prognostic Significance of Metabolic Response Heterogeneity in Metastatic Colorectal Cancer
BACKGROUND Tumoral heterogeneity is a major determinant of resistance in solid tumors. FDG-PET/CT can identify early during chemotherapy non-responsive lesions within the whole body tumor load. This prospective multicentric proof-of-concept study explores intra-individual metabolic response (mR) heterogeneity as a treatment efficacy biomarker in chemorefractory metastatic colorectal cancer (mCR...
