چکیده

Background. Increased levels of brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) and the N-terminal fragment (NT-proBNP) in heart failure (HF) indicates atrial ventricular myocardial remodeling. BNP NT- proBNP have great prognostic value patients with HF. However, fibrillation (AF) can affect interpretation NT-proBNP. AF is one most common conditions HF assessing predictive NT-proBNP extremely important clinical practice for AF. Aim. To determine arrhythmias (VA) markers estimate significance VA risk assessment Material methods. Totally, 164 left ejection fraction (LVEF <50%) were included into study. All underwent transthoracic echocardiography using standard echocardiographic positions; 24-hour ECG monitoring to assess types nature VA. determined by enzyme immunoassay (ELISA) venous blood plasma. Results. In group paroxysms non-sustained tachycardia (NSVT) more frequently recorded compared sinus rhythm (48 (52.2%) versus 21 (29.2%); p=0.005). Patients NSVT without larger (LV) sizes LV volumes; differences between LVEF being statistical results. HF, NSVT, significantly higher (298.8 [149; 500.6] pg/mL 152 [145.7; 335.4] pg/mL, p=0.02) (2071.5 [1385; 4652.4] vs. 971 [778.5; 1452] p<0.0001). A significant positive correlation was found level amount per day; there a day. Conclusion. The incidence among rhythm. registered are characterized LA volumes NSVT. concentrations

The effects of curcumin on the prevention of atrial and ventricular arrhythmias and heart failure in patients with unstable angina: A randomized clinical trial

Objective: Inflammation along with oxidative stress has an important role in the pathophysiology of unstable angina which leads to acute myocardial infarction, arrhythmias and eventually heart failure. Curcumin has anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant effects and thereby, it may reduce cardiovascular complications. This randomized controlled trial aimed to investigate the effects of curcumin on t...

Response to Letter to the Editor: "Evaluate the effects of curcumin on the prevention of atrial and ventricular arrhythmias and heart failure in patients with unstable angina"

Dear editor Regarding the duration of supplement therapy in our study which has been published in the Avicenna J Phytomed, 2019; 9(1): 1-9, “The effects of curcumin on the prevention of atrial and ventricular arrhythmias and heart failure in patients with unstable angina” (Dastani et al., 2019),  some critical flaws has been mentioned. Primarily, we are grateful for the consi...

Dear editor In a recent issue of the journal, Dastani et al. (2019) evaluate the effects of curcumin on the prevention of atrial and ventricular arrhythmias and heart failure in patients with unstable angina. Despite the fact that the topic was interesting, there were some defects and we wish to call to your attention important factual issues in this publication. The most cr...

Prognostic Value of N-Terminal Pro-B-Type Natriuretic Peptide Levels in Heart Failure Patients With and Without Atrial Fibrillation.

BACKGROUND Patients with heart failure (HF) and atrial fibrillation (AF) have higher circulating levels of NT-proBNP (N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide) than HF patients without AF. There is uncertainty about the prognostic importance of a given concentration of NT-proBNP in HF patients with and without AF. We investigated this question in a large cohort of patients with HF and reduced ...
