Proportionally fair load balancing with statistical quality of service provisioning for aerial base stations

Aerial base stations (ABSs) seem promising to enhance the coverage and capacity of fifth-generation upcoming networks. With flexible mobility ABSs, they can be positioned in air maximize number users served with a guaranteed quality service (QoS). However, ABSs may overloaded or underutilized given inefficient placement, user association has not been well addressed. Hence, we propose three-dimensional ABS placement scheme delay-QoS-driven balance loading among ABSs. First, load balancing utility function is designed based on proportional fairness. Then, an optimization problem for joint formulated subject statistical delay QoS requirements collision avoidance constraints. To solve this problem, introduce efficient modified gray wolf optimizer greedy strategy. Simulation results demonstrate that proposed outperforms baselines terms provisioning.
