Protein therapeutics have gained momentum in recent years and become a pillar treating many diseases the only choice several ailments. are highly specific, tunable, less toxic than conventional small drug molecules. However, reaping full benefits of therapeutic proteins clinics is often hindered by issues immunogenicity short half-life due essentially to fast renal clearance enzymatic degradation. Advances polymer chemistry protein engineering allowed overcoming some these limitations. Strategies prolong rely on increasing their size stability and/or fusing them endogenous (albumin, Fc fragment antibody) hijack physiological pathways involved recycling.
