Proximity-induced charge density wave in a metallic system

چکیده

Nonlocal quasiparticles in correlated quantum materials can exhibit the proximity effect. For instance, metal superconductor hybrid systems, leaking of Cooper pairs to metallic region induces superconducting correlations a standard metal. This paper explores effects charge density wave (CDW) on using attractive Hubbard model, which harbors CDW state at half filling. Our fully self-consistent calculations demonstrate that periodic modulations develop due tunneling finite momentum particle-hole from region. Upon doping normal region, commensurate changes an incommensurate one by incorporating regular phase shifts. Furthermore, induced produces soft gap states and thus be detected experiments. We discuss our results light recent reports such proximity-induced order different two-dimensional heterostructures.

Charge density wave in graphene: magnetic-field-induced Peierls instability

We suggest that a magnetic-field-induced Peierls instability accounts for the recent experiment of Zhang et al. in which unexpected quantum Hall plateaus were observed at high magnetic fields in graphene on a substrate. This Peierls instability leads to an out-of-plane lattice distortion resulting in a charge density wave (CDW) on sublattices A and B of the graphene honeycomb lattice. We also d...

Sliding charge-density wave in manganites.

Stripe and chequerboard phases appear in many metal oxide compounds, and are thought to be linked to exotic behaviour such as high-temperature superconductivity and colossal magnetoresistance. It is therefore extremely important to understand the fundamental nature of such phases. The so-called stripe phase of the manganites has long been interpreted as the localization of charge at atomic site...

Charge-density-wave phase slip in NbSe3

We have studied the phase-slip process by which charge-density-wave (CDW) current is converted to single-particle current at electrical contacts. Transport and X-ray scattering measurements indicate that an excess voltage Vps dropped between current contacts induces a large static deformation of the CDW phase. The measured Vpsand temperature-dependent phase-slip rates are consistent with a mode...

Charge Density Wave and Quantum Fluctuations in a Molecular Crystal

We consider an electron-phonon system in two and three dimensions on square, hexagonal and cubic lattices. The model is a modification of the standard Holstein model where the optical branch is appropriately curved in order to have a reflection positive Hamiltonian. Using infrared bounds together with a recent result on the coexistence of long-range order for electron and phonon fields, we prov...
