Public and Private Sector to Zero Deforestation Commitmen in South Sumatra

To address deforestation, South Sumatra Goverment was committed to be the frontrunner in attaining Green Growth 2017. All economic activities related land use must comply with regulations. The private sector supports them some initiatives by several certifications as their commitment toward zero deforestation (ZDC). However, from cover data, Province is one of highest forest loss Indonesia followed increasing activities. This study aims explain commitments public and sectors complying deforestation. We conducted interviews relevant agencies collect data regarding interventions initiatives. used compliance theory analyze both sectors. results showed that have shown type treaty-induced compliance. how integrated into policies, aligned governance arrangements, a good environmental quality change reduced rate. ZDC’s objectives at least halve rate natural forests globally 2020 has been implemented both. Thus, they strive end 2030.
