Quantification of biochemical compounds in Bauhinia Variegata Linn flower extract and its hepatoprotective effect

Liver disorders may occur as a result of exposure to chemical compounds capable inducing the oxidative stress and hepatic injuries. The aim present study was investigate effects flower extracts B. Variegata for treatment liver injury induced by CCl4. About 1 ml/kg body weight (b.w) CCl4 experimental mice intraperitoneal way 14 days. methanol chloroform (100, 200 300 mg/kg b.w) were administered animals days along with standard drug Silymarine (100 b.w). alone showed no evidence toxicity but exposed without presented variations in levels enzymes, antioxidant proteins blood cells well injuries also observed during histopathological study. However, after treatments especially b.w markers (ALT, AST ALP), enzymes decreases turned towards normal levels. Whereas level total bilirubin improved damaged repaired. curative activity can be correlated higher potential antioxidants occurrence Quercetin some other organic those investigated from HPLC GC-MS analysis. finding this supports use formulation folk medicines.
