Abstract Funding Acknowledgements Type of funding sources: None. Background Myocardial fibrosis (MF) is a common endpoint in the majority pathological mechanisms affecting cardiac muscle, ultimately resulting failure. Cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) with gadolinium-based contrast agent and T1 mapping technique able to deliver non-invasive quantification extracellular volume (ECV) expansion. Recently, ECV estimation computed tomography (ECV-CCT) has been validated setting amyloidosis, showing good agreement ECV-CMR. However, no evidence available last generation single source energy CT scanner clinical context newly diagnosed left ventricular dysfunction. Therefore, aim this study test diagnostic accuracy ECV-CCT for detection MF patients recent diagnosis reduced ventricle ejection fraction (LVEF), having ECV-CMR as reference technique. Methods A consecutive cohort 41 dysfunction (LVEF < 50%) was enrolled. Time interval maximum 30 days present between CCT CMR. segment evaluability each technique, ECV-CCT, regression analysis Bland-Altman were performed. Results Age enrolled 62 ± 11 years, mean LVEF at CMR 35.2 10.7%. Mean total amount administrated iodinated 112.6 22.2 ml, while overall radiation exposure 2.1 1.1 mSv. Out 656 myocardial segments available, (100%) evaluable 640 (97.6%) demonstrated slightly lower values compared both global region-based comparison (all segments, 33.1 8.5% vs 35.5 10.7%, p 0.001). At analysis, strong correlations described r = 0.877, 95%CI: 0.840 0.914). On bias 2.4 (95%CI: −7.8 12.7). Conclusions last-generation feasible accurate. Integration measurement comprehensive evaluation can be performed small increase exposure.

Echocardiographic and cardiac single photon emission computed tomography predictors of left ventricle reverse remodeling after surgical revascularization in patients with ischemic cardiomyopathy and left ventricle systolic dysfunction.
BACKGROUND The extent of scar or viable hypocontractile myocardial tissue determines postinfarction left ventricle remodeling. The aim of this pilot study was to evaluate the revascularization effect in a group of patients with ischemic cardiomyopathy and LV systolic dysfunction indicated for surgical revascularization, based on evidence for multivessel disease on coronarography and viable myoc...

Endocardial leads can potentially cause problems during coronary vessels visualization in multislice computed tomography (MSCT) due to a large number of artifacts. Based on presented case, we conclude that it is possible to perform MSCT of coronary arteries and leads visualization despite coexistence of four endocardial leads.
