Quantitative recovery of lecithins after argentation chromatography on thin layers.
The lecithins of rat liver are resolved into three fractions by chromatography on a thin layer of silica gel impregnated with silver nitrate. Each of these fractions is placed in a small column containing a cation-exchange resin, and the lecithins are eluted free from silver nitrate. Recoveries average 96%.
متن کاملResolution of intact phosphatidylinositols by argentation thin-layer chromatography.
An argentation thin-layer chromatographic method is described for the separation of intact phosphatidylinositols on the basis of the degree of unsaturation of their component fatty acids. The system is applicable for metabolic studies using radioactive precursors of phosphatidylinositol.
متن کاملChromatography of unusual lipids on thin layers of magnesium oxide.
The chromatographic behavior of some minor components of natural lipids was studied using layers of magnesium oxide and of commercial adsorbents containing magnesium oxide. The lipids investigated included wax esters, cholesteryl esters, diester waxes, and esters, ethers and ether-esters of ethanediol and glycerol. Pronounced differences were found in the patterns of separation of certain lipid...
متن کاملSeparation of sterol acetates by column and thin-layer argentation chromatography.
Column and thin-layer chromatographic systems employing silver nitrate-impregnated adsorbents are described for the separation of sterol acetates which differ in the number of double bonds in the steroid nucleus or side chain.
