Quantum boomerang effect: Beyond the standard Anderson model

It was recently shown that wavepackets with skewed momentum distribution exhibit a boomerang-like dynamics in the Anderson model due to localization: after an initial ballistic motion, they make U-turn and eventually come back their starting point. In this paper, we study robustness of quantum boomerang effect various kinds disordered dynamical systems: tight-binding models pseudo-random potentials, systems band random Hamiltonians, kicked rotor. Our results show persists potentials. is also present rotor, although case specific dependency on state. On other hand, find hopping processes inhibit any drift motion wavepacket, consequently effect. particular, if nearest-neighbor amplitudes have zero average, wavepacket remains its position.
