چکیده
A total of four muddy–fine sand deposits attached to the undersides cobles and boulders three Claudiconcha japonica fossils were collected determine formation age conglomeratic beachrock developing at Sasebo, Nagasaki prefecture. The geology surveyed coast consists non-limestone rocks. Radiocarbon dating using Accelerator Mass Spectrometry (AMS14C dating) for samples was conducted beachrock. It not possible because their low CaCO3 concentrations (1.4%); however, yielded an Modern (102.5 ± 0.3 pMC–101.6 pMC). elemental composition cement analyzed with ICP-MS showed Al Fe 6.9% 4.9%, respectively; Ca concentration 0.6%. analytical results lead conclusion that Sasebo could be determined AMS14C dating, boulders, including mud fine deposits, cemented Al2O3 Fe2O3, or probably SiO2, formed

Isolation of arbor viruses from mosquitoes collected at live-stock pens in Gumma Prefecture in 1959.
Hitherto Japanese B encephalitis (JBE) virus has been isolated in many instances from men, animals and mosquitoes and it has been thought probable that JBE virus is the only prevalent arbor virus in Japan. In the meantime, Ando et al. (1952) reported the isolation of a virus (Negishi virus) from the autopsied brain of a patient clinically diagnosed as JBE. By our recent studies, evidences have ...
متن کاملActivity concentrations of environmental samples collected in Fukushima Prefecture immediately after the Fukushima nuclear accident
Radionuclide concentrations in environmental samples such as surface soils, plants and water were evaluated by high purity germanium detector measurements. The contribution rate of short half-life radionuclides such as (132)I to the exposure dose to residents was discussed from the measured values. The highest values of the (131)I/(137)Cs activity ratio ranged from 49 to 70 in the environmental...
متن کاملSpatial distribution and pyrethroid susceptibility of mosquito larvae collected from catch basins in parks in Nagasaki city, Nagasaki, Japan.
We investigated the spatial distribution and pyrethroid susceptibility of the mosquito larvae belonging to Aedes albopictus and Culex pipiens group in catch basins located in parks in Nagasaki city, Nagasaki, Japan. Among the 308 parks located in the central regions of the city, 194 were investigated. Cx. pipiens group larvae were collected from 31 sites; larvae of Ae. albopictus, from 34 sites...
متن کاملAssessment of geogenic natural radionuclide contents of soil samples collected from Ogun State, South western, Nigeria
Background: Natural radionuclides are always present in the environment. Human exposure to the background radiation is inevitable. It is therefore important to assess health risk associated with these radionuclides. Materials and Methods: The distribution of natural radionuclides 238U, 232Th and 40K in soil samples collected from all the twenty (20) local Governments headquarter areas in Ogun s...

Background: The present work aims to determine the activity concentrations of 226Ra, 233Th and 40K in soil samples collected in Mounana in the Southeastern region of Gabon, to evaluate the contribution of the natural. Materials and Methods: An HPGe p-type detector coupled with a multichannel analyzer DSA-1000 was used to perform measurements and process data. Data acquisition and analysis were ...
