Travelling waves for the cane toads equation with bounded traits
In this paper, we study propagation in a nonlocal reaction-diffusion-mutation model describing the invasion of cane toads in Australia [28]. The population of toads is structured by a space variable and a phenotypical trait and the space-diffusivity depends on the trait. We use a Schauder topological degree argument for the construction of some travelling wave solutions of the model. The speed ...

and Applied Analysis 3 holds for all v ∈ W 0 Ω , where W 1,p 0 Ω is the Sobolev space for Sobolev spaces, see 4 . In this case, we say that u is an eigenfunction, corresponding to the eigenpair w, k and ν, where w is a frequency, k is a wave number, and the parameter ν comes from the initial equation 1.1 . We prefer to denote the test functions in 1.7 by v, which is clearly different from the n...
متن کاملMultiple branches of travelling waves for the Gross Pitaevskii equation
Explicit solitary waves are known to exist for the Kadomtsev-Petviashvili-I (KP-I) equation in dimension 2. We first address numerically the question of their Morse index. The results confirm that the lump solitary wave has Morse index one and that the other explicit solutions correspond to excited states. We then turn to the 2D Gross-Pitaevskii (GP) equation which in some long wave regime conv...
متن کاملWave Propagation in a Lattice Kpp Equation in Random Media
We extend a result of Freidlin and Gartner (1979) for KPP (Kolmogorov-Petrovskii-Piskunov) wave fronts to the case d ≥ 2 for i.i.d. (independent and identically distributed) random media. We show a wave front propagation speed is attained for the discrete-space (lattice) KPP using a large deviation approach.
متن کاملAn Exactly Solvable Travelling Wave Equation in the Fisher–KPP Class
For a simple one dimensional lattice version of a travelling wave equation, we obtain an exact relation between the initial condition and the position of the front at any later time. This exact relation takes the form of an inverse problem: given the times tn at which the travelling wave reaches the positions n, one can deduce the initial profile. We show, bymeans of complex analysis, that a num...
