چکیده

In recent years, the need to contain healthcare costs due growing public debt of many countries, combined with reduce costly travel by patients unable move autonomously, have captured attention administrators towards tele-rehabilitation. This trend has been consolidated overwhelmingly following Covid-19 pandemic, which made it precarious, difficult and even dangerous for access hospital facilities. We present an approach based on rapid prototyping virtual reality, cognitive tele-rehabilitation exercises, reinforce group exercises available in Nu!reha platform. Patients who experienced injury or pathology practice continuous training order recover functional abilities, therapist needs monitor outcomes such practices. The new approach, become crucial especially this pandemic period. Virtual Reality are designed Unity 3D empower set up personalized easy way, enabling patient receive stimuli, essential a positive outcome practice. Furthermore, reaction speed system is fundamental importance, as temporal evolution scene must proceed parallel patient’s movements, ensure effective efficient therapeutic response. So, we optimized reality application make loading phase startup fast possible tested results obtained devices: particular computers smartphones different operating systems hardware. implemented method powers Nu!Reha system®, collection services that helps capabilities.

Real-Time 3D Avatars for Tele-rehabilitation in Virtual Reality

We present work in progress on a tele-immersion system for telerehabilitation using real-time stereo vision and virtual environments. Stereo reconstruction is used to capture user's 3D avatar in real time and project it into a shared virtual environment, enabling a patient and therapist to interact remotely. Captured data can also be used to analyze the movement and provide feedback to the pati...

Cognitive Virtual-Reality Based Stroke Rehabilitation

Stroke is a debilitating condition with major costs for patients and their care-givers. Here we present a novel virtual reality (VR) based cognitive neurorehabilitation system for improving the rehabilitation of stroke patients with arm and hand paresis. Using a custom, low-cost kinematic tracking system designed for clinical or home use, patients engage in task-oriented interactions with objec...

Virtual Reality and Rapid Prototyping: Conflicting or Complimentary?

It is likely that the uses for virtual reality (VR) will coincide with applications that rapid prototyping systems have already been used for. VR, with the ability to model real life environments, presents an ideal base for the design and development of new manufactured products. As a method of producing physical models directly from 3D CAD systems, rapid prototyping technology has also been us...

A Tele-Cognitive Rehabilitation System Using LabVIEW

Brain injury is one of the main causes of long-term disability, and its rehabilitation is a challenge to healthcare teams. This study developed a tele-rehabilitation system for the cognitive rehabilitation of persons with brain injury using LabVIEW, a high-level graphical programming environment. The system offers several cognitive rehabilitation exercises and allows patients’ personal and clin...

Outcome Measures in Tele-Rehabilitation and Virtual Reality for Stroke Survivors: Protocol for a Scoping Review

UNLABELLED Despite the increased interest about tele-rehabilitation, virtual reality and outcome measures for stroke rehabilitation, surprisingly little research has been done to map and summarize the most common outcome measures used in tele-rehabilitation. For this review, we propose to conduct a systematic search of the literature that reports outcome measures used in tele-rehabilitation or ...
