RapidXfer - data transfer framework for square kilometre array

چکیده
Abstract Data Management of Astronomy is often a laborious task and it even more challenging for the extraordinary amounts data expected from world’s largest radio telescope, Square Kilometre Array. There are overt issues in transferring voluminous traditional transfer methods fragile especially between two continents. To address this, new framework proposed achieved using steps: international local transfers. The efficiency different end-to-end tools used evaluated on dataset sizes. Further, comparative study IRIS grid made to understand each methods’ advantages disadvantages. This can be as reference development future SKA’s operations.

متن کاملMeeting the Calibration Requirements for the Square Kilometre Array
Calibration of the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) will be the key to successfully achieving an astronomical instrument two orders of magnitude better than existing radio telescopes. The extent to how accurate the calibration data should be is dependent on the sensitivity of the processing algorithm to errors, or its robustness. The SKA telescope calibration data will be sensitive to many factors,...
متن کاملEnd-to-end compute model of the Square Kilometre Array
Scientific requirements for next-generation radio telescopes significantly influence compute requirements of their processing facilities. For future instruments, such as the Square Kilometre Array, seemingly minor changes can easily push compute requirements into the exascale domain. We present a model for engineers and astronomers to understand these relations and to make trade-offs in radio t...
متن کاملExtragalactic radio surveys in the pre-Square Kilometre Array era
The era of the Square Kilometre Array is almost upon us, and pathfinder telescopes are already in operation. This brief review summarizes our current knowledge of extragalactic radio sources, accumulated through six decades of continuum surveys at the low-frequency end of the electromagnetic spectrum and the extensive complementary observations at other wavelengths necessary to gain this unders...
