Real driving emissions evaluation for a heavy duty vehicle based on engine-in-the-loop methodology

نویسندگان

چکیده

In this paper, the engine-in-the-loop (EIL) methodology was used to study real driving emissions of a heavy-duty vehicle on an engine test bed. The virtual combined with actual establish EIL platform. result speed followability shows that difference between simulated and is within ±2 km/h, indicating cycle can be well reproduced bed by method. method high coincidence operating points. Compared driving, CO2, NOx PN 3.6%, 72.3% 40% lower for vehicle, respectively. Analysis equipment key influencing factor accuracy EIL, while control exhaust temperature intercooler play important roles in EIL.

Design and analysis of a thermoelectric generator for a heavy-duty vehicle in ‎real road test

Heavy duty vehicles have a great share on fossil fuel consumption and greenhouse gases in the world, while they waste two third of chemical energy of fuel. On the other hand, simplicity and long life of thermoelectric generators (TEGs) are considered more and more to convert thermal energy to electrical one. In this paper a TEG designed in the exhaust system of Renault Midlum 195 Dxi Engine. Th...

Research of Driving Performance for Heavy Duty Vehicle Running on Long Downhill Road Based on Engine Brake

For the safety problem of heavy duty vehicles running on long downhill sections, a model was built for the application of engine brake and service brake combination based on test results. And a model of brake temperature rise for heavy duty vehicles running on long downhill sections was also established. For different braking modes, gear positions, speed and downhill slopes, brake temperature r...

A Comparison of Light-duty Vehicle Emissions over Different Test Cycles and in Real Driving Conditions

The European Commission is examining test procedures to ensure that light-duty vehicle emissions are well controlled both in real use and over the legislative test cycle. At the same time, the UN Working Party on Pollution and Energy (GRPE) has developed a Worldwide harmonised Light vehicles Test Procedure (WLTP) that is expected to be used for Type Approval in the EU in the future. To identify...

On-road heavy-duty vehicle emissions monitoring system.

The introduction of particulate and oxides of nitrogen (NOx) after-treatment controls on heavy-duty vehicles has spurred the need for fleet emissions data to monitor their reliability and effectiveness. The University of Denver has developed a new method for rapidly measuring heavy-duty vehicles for gaseous and particulate fuel specific emissions. The method was recently used to collect 3088 me...

A real-time recursive dynamic model for vehicle driving simulators

This paper presents the Real-Time Recursive Dynamics (RTRD) model that is developed for driving simulators. The model could be implemented in the Driving Simulator. The RTRD can also be used for off-line high-speed dynamics analysis, compared with commercial multibody dynamics codes, to speed up mechanical design process. An overview of RTRD is presented in the paper. Basic models for specific ...
