Recent Uplift Characteristics of the Southeast Tibetan Plateau, an Analysis Based on Fluvial Indices

چکیده
The southeastern Tibetan Plateau (SETP) is well known for its large strike–slip faults with high slip rates and a potential seismic hazards. However, little about thrust associated hazards, even though they can produce devastating earthquakes despite their relatively low rate. Here we investigated the recent tectonic uplift pattern in SETP on regional scale by combining geomorphic analysis geodetic data. We quantify differential recorded long-term landscape evolution indices compare them derived from decadal leveling data millennial-scale fluvial terrace incision rates. results show that northwest of underwent higher compared to southeast areas, which agreement GPS-based leveling. Essentially, build two value ranges are spatially clustered separated Muli fault system, transverse orientated oblique/perpendicular fault. indicating rapid correspond side fault, therefore, acted as an important topographic boundary absorbing partial crustal movement. Hence, further detailed studies, such seismological investigations, suggested be conducted hazards evaluation.

Constraints on the early uplift history of the Tibetan Plateau.
The surface uplift history of the Tibetan Plateau and Himalaya is among the most interesting topics in geosciences because of its effect on regional and global climate during Cenozoic time, its influence on monsoon intensity, and its reflection of the dynamics of continental plateaus. Models of plateau growth vary in time, from pre-India-Asia collision (e.g., approximately 100 Ma ago) to gradua...

Uplift of the Tibetan Plateau Influenced the Morphological Evolution of Animals
This is a review of the results reported by studies on the impact of the Tibetan Plateau uplift on the body size, external organs, auditory organ and sexual dimorphism of animals. In high-altitude areas, strong selection pressures, such as low temperature, oxygen deficit, high frequency of strong winds, long periods of animal inactivity, and food shortages, have led to reduction in animal size,...
متن کاملClimatic Warming in the Tibetan Plateau during Recent Decades
Adequate knowledge of climatic change over the Tibetan Plateau (TP) with an average elevation of more than 4000 m above sea level (a.s.l.) has been insufficient for a long time owing to the lack of sufficient observational data. In the present study, monthly surface air temperature data were collected from almost every meteorological station on the TP since their establishment. There are 97 sta...
