چکیده

Abstract We proposed a reconfigurable valley topological acoustic waveguide constructed using 2D phononic crystal (PnC) with C 3v symmetric arrangement of three rods in the unit cell. An interface between two types PnCs differently oriented cells exhibits high robustness transport waves via topologically protected state. Structural reconfiguration was introduced by continuous translation rod arrays PnCs. The phase transition this translational change quantitatively identified Berry curvature. leaves dimer array at interface, creating localized/defective mode along waveguide. Despite presence localized mode, wave can propagate same as original be used to turn on and off bandgap. This new approach design robust device reconfigurability.

Topological Insulators with Inversion Symmetry

Topological insulators are materials with a bulk excitation gap generated by the spin-orbit interaction that are different from conventional insulators. This distinction is characterized by Z2 topological invariants, which characterize the ground state. In two dimensions, there is a single Z2 invariant that distinguishes the ordinary insulator from the quantum spin-Hall phase. In three dimensio...

Topological Phononic Crystals with One-Way Elastic Edge Waves.

We report a new type of phononic crystals with topologically nontrivial band gaps for both longitudinal and transverse polarizations, resulting in protected one-way elastic edge waves. In our design, gyroscopic inertial effects are used to break the time-reversal symmetry and realize the phononic analogue of the electronic quantum (anomalous) Hall effect. We investigate the response of both hex...

Magnetic-Sphere-Based Phononic Crystals

Periodic arrays in one, two, and three dimensions, made of magnetic spheres embedded in a fluid matrix, are considered in this study and utilized as phononic structures. The propagation of acoustic waves through these structures is analyzed experimentally, in lowand high-frequency region, via laser vibrometry, as well as standard underwater acoustic measurements. A first comparison to theoretic...

Analytic model of phononic crystals with local resonances

A simple analytic model is presented to describe the low-frequency effective mass densities of threecomponent phononic crystals with local resonances. We show that the effective mass densities can turn negative close to the local resonances. Expressions for the effective mass densities are derived for both threedimensional systems with coated spheres embedded in a host matrix, and two-dimension...

Topological Design of Cellular Phononic Band Gap Crystals

This paper systematically investigated the topological design of cellular phononic crystals with a maximized gap size between two adjacent bands. Considering that the obtained structures may sustain a certain amount of static loadings, it is desirable to ensure the optimized designs to have a relatively high stiffness. To tackle this issue, we conducted a multiple objective optimization to maxi...
