چکیده
Traditionally, vernacular Nordic clinker boats are built without plans or templates. The local boat traditions all have a system of design that was handed over from master to apprentice. In some traditions, simple plumb level used guide the boatbuilder. placed on planks hull during build give them right angles inclination in certain parts hull. Knowledge how use this is still considered part living, unbroken traditions areas. however, there no longer any living tradition bearers knowledge tool context. contribution, I will discuss lost can be reconstructed using old artefacts as source material. am investigating building vernacular, clinker-built called ‘öka’ for sailing and rowing. This specific located 19th century Stockholm archipelago. case preserved levels closely related traditions. A central question context locate exact positions were measured by level. Working with reverse engineering, measuring performed boats, but places must reconstruct where tool. Some markings investigation match locations boats. also possibility applying traditional methods boatbuilders today´s surveys reconstructions, not translating craft object into digital 3D model lines plan.
