Reconstruction of Sentinel Images for Suspended Particulate Matter Monitoring in Arid Regions

Missing data is a common issue in remote sensing. Data reconstruction through multiple satellite sources has become one of the most powerful ways to solve this issue. Continuous monitoring suspended particulate matter (SPM) arid lakes vital for water quality solutions. Therefore, research aimed develop and evaluate performance two image strategies, spatio-temporal fusion reflectance inversion SPM fusion, based on measured concentration with Sentinel-2 Sentinel-3. The results show that (1) ESTARFM (Enhanced Spatio-temporal Adaptive Reflection Fusion Model) performed better than FSDAF (Flexible Fusion) generation, particularly red band, followed by blue, green, NIR (near-infrared) bands. (2) A single-band linear non-linear regression model was constructed Analysis accuracy stability led us conclusion band performs well, fast model, wide range applications (Sentinel-2, Sentinel-3, fused high-accuracy images). (3) By comparing strategies map, we found map more effective stable when applied images. findings can provide an important scientific reference value further expanding other parameters future theoretical basis as well technical support management Ebinur Lake’s ecology environment.
