Reduce Overtime of Distribution Centre by Re-Layout and Employee Shift Scheduling Use Class Based Storage and Integer Linear Programming

A distribution center, which operates franchised minimarket networks, faces high overtime in warehouse operations. In the DC, center process is related to warehouses as part of a logistics system for receiving, storing, and distributing groceries. This research was conducted on DC at Cilacap city, Center Java, with highest amount overtime, 11.3%. Through analysis FMEA, failure mode effect Fishbone Diagram, find out that repack problems during pick-pack difficulty finding location SKU, keeping unit by picker. After implementing Class-Based Storage method ABC classification technique, it used classify based throughput percentage rating, from cumulative value lowest value. With proposed layout has been made, resulted decrease total travel distance 17% 17%. Furthermore, determine appropriate shift combination optimal labor needs, we use linear programming LINGO Software. By work scheduling Software, companies could minimize costs up 48.4%.
