چکیده

This paper presents a numerical study on the reduction in voltage and current induced 13.5 km buried metallic pipeline by an overhead power line. The mitigation effectiveness of different configurations cross-section shapes screening conductors is computed means methodology that combines 2D Finite Element Analysis with circuital analysis. A 35.72% maximum obtained when 4 cylindrical steel 8 mm radius are 0.25m below soil surface, along path. reduced 26.98%. parametric also performed, to assess influence per-unit-length admittance earth efficacy. results show may help reducing inductive coupling between lines pipelines, assumption perfectly insulated leads underestimation produced effect.

Emissions of electromagnetic fields caused by sagged overhead power lines

Nowadays people became aware of the overhead lines and their emissions of electromagnetic fields. This work presents a method for calculation of the electric field strength and magnetic field density caused by the overhead power lines at the ground level. The method considers the conductor sagging. It is shown that the sagged conductors can be replaced with the properly placed straight conducto...

on the teacher-generated v.s. leaner-generated noticing-the-gap activities in language classes

abstract the purpose of this study is twofold: on the one hand, it is intended to see what kind of noticing-the –gap activity (teacher generated vs. learner generated) is more efficient in teaching l2 grammar in classroom language learning. on the other hand, it is an attempt to determine which approach of the noticing-the-gap- activity is more effective in the long- term retention of grammar...

Simulation of the space charge near coronating conductors of ac overhead transmission lines

In the case of ac high voltage overhead transmission lines, corona discharges may result in a broadband crackling and a humming noise at twice the mains frequency (2f ). The computation of the emitted 2f -levels presupposes the knowledge of the apparent power and force passed by the ions to the gas in the surroundings of the conductors. In this paper a simulation determining these magnitudes us...

A SURVEY ON THE EFFECT OF SOIL COMPOSITION IN CORROSION BEHAVIOR OF CATHODICALLY PROTECTED BURIED PIPELINES UNDER AC INDUCED CONDITION

Abstract: Due to the expansion of high voltage Alternating Current (AC) power transmission lines and cathodically protected buried pipelines, it is becoming more and more difficult to construct them with enough safe distances between them. Thus, the pipelines are frequently exposed to induced AC interferences, which result in perturbation of Cathodic Protection (CP) due to AC corrosion. To s...
