چکیده
Introduction: Many authors have discussed the relationship between craniofacial morphology and pharyngeal airway spaces in different malocclusions skeletal patterns. So aim of this work was to study relation sagittal position mandible volume adults using CBCT. Materials And Methods:Twentyone CBCT radiographs were collected from archive Radiology Department at Suez Canal University divided into 3 groups according measured SNB angle. Group 1 normal mandibular position, group 2 retrognathic prognathic mandible. Dolphin 3D imaging software used measure for all radiographs. Nasopharyngeal, oropharyngeal, hypopharyngeal total volumes F-test (ANOVA) comparison Tukey test pairwise comparisons. Correlations variables tested PearsonÂ’s correlation coefficient. Results: there statistically significant difference mean oropharyngeal three groups. Nasopharyngeal had non-significant There a positive (mm3) Conclusion: Pharyngeal differs with positions decreases retrognathism increases prognathism.

Assessment of pharyngeal airway space using Cone-Beam Computed Tomography
Introduction: Evaluation of upper airway space is a routine procedure in orthodontic diagnosis and treatment planning. Although limited insofar as they provide two dimensional images of three-dimensional structures, lateral cephalometric radiographs have been used routinely to assess airway space permeability. Cone-Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) has contributed to orthodontics with information...
متن کاملComparison of the Pharyngeal Airway Volume between Non-Syndromic Unilateral Cleft Palate and Normal Individuals Using Cone Beam Computed Tomography
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM Individuals with cleft lip and cleft palate mostly have airway problems. Introduction of cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) and imaging software has provided the opportunity for a more precisely evaluating 3D volume of the airway. PURPOSE The purpose of this study was to analyze and compare 3D the pharyngeal airway volumes of cleft palate patients with normal indivi...
متن کاملEffect of mono- and bimaxillary advancement on pharyngeal airway volume: cone-beam computed tomography evaluation.
PURPOSE To evaluate pharyngeal airway volume changes after forward movements of the maxilla or mandible, or both, using cone-beam computed tomography. PATIENTS AND METHODS A retrospective evaluation of 30 patients who underwent maxillomandibular advancement, maxillary advancement, or mandibular advancement was performed. Three groups of 10 subjects each were established: group 1, bimaxillary ...
متن کاملPharyngeal airway volume and shape from cone-beam computed tomography: relationship to facial morphology.
INTRODUCTION The aim of this study was to assess the differences in airway shape and volume among subjects with various facial patterns. METHODS Cone-beam computed tomography records of 62 nongrowing patients were used to evaluate the pharyngeal airway volume (superior and inferior compartments) and shape. This was done by using 3-dimensional virtual surface models to calculate airway volumes...
متن کاملOsteoporosis prediction from the mandible using cone-beam computed tomography
PURPOSE This study aimed to evaluate the use of dental cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) in the diagnosis of osteoporosis among menopausal and postmenopausal women by using only a CBCT viewer program. MATERIALS AND METHODS Thirty-eight menopausal and postmenopausal women who underwent dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) examination for hip and lumbar vertebrae were scanned using CBCT (f...
