Reliability-based equitable transit frequency design

چکیده

Fairness is an important criterion for achieving sustainable urban development. While most existing studies focus on accessing or evaluating the fairness condition of a given transit network, this study explicitly incorporates as objective in planning step. A multi-objective bilevel programming model developed where lower level problem reliability-based assignment and upper to determine optimal frequency settings simultaneously minimise total effective travel cost maximise network condition. Artificial Bee Colony algorithm solve model. Numerical find that: (1) increasing may not improve condition; (2) there tradeoff between two objectives (3) effect passengers’ risk aversion attitude measurement depends setting; it could either amplify measurements have no impact.

Reliability-Based Transit Assignment for Congested Stochastic Transit Networks

This paper proposes a Nonlinear Complementarity Problem (NCP) formulation for the risk-aversive stochastic transit assignment problem in which in-vehicle travel time, waiting time, capacity and the effect of congestion are considered as stochastic variables simultaneously and both their means and variances are incorporated into the formulation. A new congestion model is developed and captured i...

Reliability based structural design

According to ISO 2394, structures shall be designed, constructed and maintained in such a way that they are suited for their use during the design working life in an economic way. To fulfil this requirement one needs insight into the risk and reliability under expected and non-expected actions. A key role in this respect is played by the structural reliability analysis (SRA). In this paper the ...

The Reliability-Based Stochastic Transit Assignment Problem with Elastic Demand

This paper examines the reliability-based stochastic transit assignment problem with elastic demand. A Variational Inequality (VI) model for this problem is developed. The VI model considers capacity, waiting time and in-vehicle travel time as stochastic variables, and includes Spiess and Florian’s (1989) and de Cea and Fernández’s (1993) models as special cases. A reliability-based stochastic ...
