Research in science communication in Latin America: mind the gap

چکیده
In this commentary, we discuss the challenges associated with carrying out research in science communication Latin America. We start ‘‘invisibility’’ of American studies three most prominent international journals field (although there has been a growing number region). Then, look to recent popularisation through social media, political issues facing region and massive spread disinformation fake news, which widely accentuated by pandemic. argue that is an urgent need but also opportunities for innovation collaborative communication. Finally, call attention how present situation might lead bigger gaps among researchers from developing world, including America, so-called developed world.
