RESEARCH OF POSSIBILITY OF PROCESSING PETROLEUM COKE WITH INCREASED VOLATILE SUBSTANCES INTO ACTIVATED CARBONS

In present work, study to obtain granulated active carbon based on industrial petroleum coke of the CEL grade (coke with an increased content volatile substances) produced in delayed coking unit have been conducted. The production activated carbons was carried out by preliminary carbonization at a temperature 500-800 °C, followed activation water vapor atmosphere 850-900 °C. addition, tests were effect impregnation initial aqueous solutions chemical activators (sodium hydroxide, potassium carbonate, phosphoric acid) efficiency heat treatment and characteristics porous structure resulting sorbent. use sodium hydroxide as activating agent increases reactivity sample, but microporous does not develop. Using carbonate solution increasing 800 °C causes increase degree burning from 28 44 %. However, carbonizates superheated steam leads 97-98 % burn-out samples due sharp reactivity. It shown that obtained base substances acid (concentration 17 wt.%), filtration drying, inert medium °С has sufficiently high specific surface micropores (up 430 m2/g) other structure. Thus, proposed method can serve one ways expand qualified coke.
