چکیده
This article proposes a review of the modeling approaches for floating offshore wind turbines (FOWTs) nonlinear control design. The aerodynamic, hydrodynamic and mooring line dynamic modules FOWT have been reviewed to provide an overview several with their respective features. Next, three control-oriented models from literature are revisited by presenting methodological identification. These cover most popular types FOWTs. Then, performances these validated open fatigue, aerodynamics, structures, turbulence (OpenFAST) code, evaluated according criteria. Finally, one is used illustrate second-order sliding mode based on twisting algorithm optimize performance in terms energy extraction reduction platform pitch oscillation.

Computationally Inexpensive Approach for Pitch Control of Offshore Wind Turbine on Barge Floating Platform
Offshore floating wind turbine (OFWT) has gained increasing attention during the past decade because of the offshore high-quality wind power and complex load environment. The control system is a tradeoff between power tracking and fatigue load reduction in the above-rated wind speed area. In allusion to the external disturbances and uncertain system parameters of OFWT due to the proximity to lo...
متن کاملIndividual Blade Pitch Control of a Floating Offshore Wind Turbine on a Tension Leg Platform
A disturbance accommodating controller (DAC) to reject wind speed perturbations is applied on a 5MW wind turbine mounted on a tension leg platform (TLP). Multi-blade coordinate (MBC) transformation is used to address the periodicity of the floating wind turbine system. A method to apply DAC after applying MBC transformation is developed and several implementation options are presented. Simulati...
متن کاملEffect of Platform Surge Motion on the Performance of 5MW NREL Offshore Floating Wind Turbine
In this study, an unsteady aerodynamic simulation is performed to realize the influences of platform surge motion on the aerodynamic performance of a high capacity offshore floating wind turbine. A dynamic model with pitch angle control system is utilized to propose a more realistic model of wind turbine and also achieve the rated condition of the rotor. The transient effect of platform surge m...
متن کاملReduced Nonlinear Model of a Spar-mounted Floating Wind Turbine
Floating offshore wind turbines (FOWTs) are complex dynamic systems requiring a thorough design for optimal operating performance and stability. Advanced control strategies, like model predictive control, are part of the integrated development of new concepts. This paper presents a simplified and computationally efficient model of the spar-mounted OC3-Hywind FOWT. Applications are, e.g., the re...
