Revisiting the Friedberg–Lee–Sirlin soliton model

نویسندگان

چکیده

Non-topological solitons are localized classical field configurations stabilized by a Noether charge. Friedberg, Lee, and Sirlin proposed simple renormalizable soliton model in their seminal 1976 paper, consisting of complex scalar that carries the charge real-scalar mediator. We revisit this model, point out commonalities differences with Q-ball solitons, provide analytic approximations to underlying differential equations.

Revisiting the Hierarchical Data Model

Much of the data we deal with every day is organized hierarchically: file systems, library classification schemes and yellow page categories are salient examples. Business data too, benefits from a hierarchical organization, and indeed the hierarchical data model was quite prevalent thirty years ago. Due to the recently increased importance of X.500/LDAP directories, which are hierarchical, and...

Soliton - potential interaction in the 4 model

Scattering of solitons from potentials have been studied in many papers by different methods. It is shown that the soliton acts as a pointlike particle in most of the cases. But there are some surprising features which need more attention. Solitons interact on a potential barrier almost elastically; while they show quantumlike behavior during the interaction with a potential well. Several model...

Multi-soliton Dynamics in the Skyrme Model

We exhibit the dynamical scattering of multi-solitons in the Skyrme model for configurations with charge two, three and four. First, we construct maximally attractive configurations from a simple profile function and the product ansatz. Then using a sophisticated numerical algorithm, initially well-separated skyrmions in approximately symmetric configurations are shown to scatter through the kn...

N-soliton collision in the Manakov model

We investigate soliton collisions in the Manakov model which is a system of coupled nonlinear Schrödinger equations integrable via the inverse scattering method. Computing the asymptotic forms of the general N -soliton solution as t → ∓∞, we elucidate a mechanism which factorizes an N -soliton collision into nonlinear superposition of ( N 2 ) pair collisions in arbitrary order. This removes the...

Nucleon described by the chiral soliton in the chiral quark soliton model

We give a survey of recent development and applications of the chiral quark soliton model (also called the Nambu–Jona-Lasinio soliton model) with Nf=2 and Nf=3 quark flavors for the structure of baryons. The model is an effective chiral quark model obtained from the instanton liquid model of the quantum chromodynamics. Mesons appear as quark-antiquark excitations and baryons arise as non-topolo...
